Enjoying family fun at the corn maze today. The kids ventured separately from Chris and I and finished before us
It was hot but we had fun. We also chose a pumpkin, took a hay ride (minus the hay). I’ll call it a tractor ride, looked at the animals, and shared brats, bbq, and a funnel cake.

Asheville
Chris and I decided to have a short weekend getaway to Asheville. We left early in Saturday morning and began our journey with breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Continuing our drive and arriving in time for a late lunch/ early dinner as we headed downtown. We first stopped in a chocolatier desserty where I had chocolate cake and Chris had a vanilla/ chocolate cake with ice cream and chocolate drizzle. We explored the arts in the center of downtown at several tent shops and also the quaint stores. We even went into a store that was once Woolworth’s but is now a market place with vendors showing art. Dinner was at Tupelo Honey where Chris had dusted honey fried chicken and I had Tupelo shrimp and grits. (This is one of the few times we ordered separately but we of course still shared. Meaning that I was able to eat some of his and he had some of mine. We ended the evening driving to Lake Lure; however it was too dark. I survived the windy drive back down the mountain. We shared a breakfast sandwich, donuts, and a frozen coffee for breakfast before touring the Biltmore house on Sunday. While eating lunch at Biltmore, we decided that we’d tour and try the wines and then head back home. Since we were away, Ashleigh watched the boys. They seemingly were busy too- pool, park, church, downtown lunch. She also had them reading and playing outside with little time on their electronics. On Monday, I had taken off but got up early to take Austin to school. Ashleigh did take Dylan. Ashleigh and I had breakfast and a quick target trip while Chris worked in the garage. Relaxing weekend - time away together.
