Little update

 The school year is closing soon…. 

Teacher Appreciation Week has past and SCReady test lint is complete for me and my students !! I am ready for summer break, but most of all I’m ready to relax and refresh. I am hopeful to learn more about plants and gardening, crochet, go to the beach, and go on vacation!  

My little garden is growing nicely. I have several tomato plants and one cucumber. I am tending to two tomatoes and a blueberry that I’m surprising Ashleigh with when we visit at the end of May. 

Dylan is enjoying school. One day his teacher ended up with her baby at one of their outings and he told his teacher “ I got this!” as he was talking and watching her baby while she was helping others 

Austin is playing soccer and the choirs had the bridge concert. This week he is preparing for the big end of the year event, the Variety Show, which is tomorrow. 

Chris and Jim have been working on several projects on the blue rocket for several months and years including a new paint job, totaling rewiring, motor, transmission, air conditioning, and so many other projects and just recently they cranked it up!! Tonight he sanded the top and it will be painted again soon  

Mother’s Day

 Mother’s Day was relaxing. We went to church and the guys cleaned my car! It was a great way to end the week filled with Teacher Appreciation gifts all week I was gifted with sweet treats and little notes and flowers too by my parents and students. 

Dylan goes to Prom!

 Tonight Dylan’s school had Unified Prom! He chose to wear his wedding tux but he wanted to wear a different shirt and shoes. He chose the yellow short sleeved shirt and no tie because “it was hot and no choke”. He decided to wear his tennis shoes so “his feet don’t hurt”. He had a fun time. He said he danced and did tricks. He don’t eat any of the snacks or drinks m, but he did eat Chick fil a at home before leaving. All in all, it seems he had a fun time!

Easter

 He is Risen!

We started the day with cinnamon rolls for breakfast! We celebrated Easter at Church of Cane Bay! In the afternoon, Helen, Jim, and Shane came over to our house. We had a traditional Easter dinner with ham, massed potatoes, sweet potato soufflé, green peas (for Helen, Chris, and Jim), deviled eggs, and rolls. For dessert Helen made banana pudding and brownies! 

Soccer and gardening

 Soccer has started. Austin was team captain. 

I planted tomatoes and cucumber today! I also planted some saliva around the palm tree  in the back. I am hopeful to make that area into a flower bed. I’ll visit Lowe’s again soon.  

Teacher Besties

 My teacher bestie, Misty, from CBE that also lived in Charleston moved to Arizona 4 years ago! Last Thursday, she and her husband John (also friends with Chris) came to Charleston to visit!! Chris and I met up with them!! We had such a wonderful time catching up and reminiscing! Misty and I probably text each other at least 2 or 3 times per week, but it was so FUN to talk to her in person!! Hopeful that Chris and I can visit them in Arizona one day!!

Homeowners

 Ashleigh and Sam closed on their home last Friday and moved in!! Thankful that Chris and Dylan were able to go up to help and also thankful for the Coleclan help!!

Spring Break

Over Spring Break Austin and I (as chaperone) were about to go to Disney since his high school choir competed in Festival Disney. We walked about 37 miles in total. he and I rode a multitude of rides and had a a lot of fun!! We learned patience and appreciation too! We were able to try a variety of foods for lunch and dinner as well as snacks. 

 

Our Concert Choir, comprised of students from all 5 of our standing choirs, came together for this one performance and competition!  The choir competed against schools from Louisiana, North Carolina, Ohio, Missouri, Virginia, Florida, and even another school from South Carolina.We received a Superior Rating and were named "Best in Class" (winners) of the Mixed Choir division out of 9 choirs from those states!With a score of 96.7 the choir earned the Silver Award (2^nd place overall) for all choirs that performed and were just .6 points away from first! Overall, there were 14 choirs competing in the festival.  We also got to enjoy all 4 of the Disney parks while we were there! The choir picture at Magic Kingdom was magical because it was taken the "rope drop" fireworks in front of the castle!
