What’s happening in Jan 2022

Covid is still amongst us … Omicron variant. Luckily and prayerfully, we will continue to all stay healthy here in our household. Chris and Ashleigh have been vaxes and boosted. Dylan and I have been vaxed. We have all returned to work and/or school after a restful Christmas break. DHEC met with SC govenor to set new guidelines for school staff and basically all must report to work unless testing positive. Seemingly the same teachers and staff are being exposed but do not have Covid symptoms or test positive. I have also had to teach virtual this semester as students have been exposed or tested positive. Luckily and prayerfully, the numbers in my class are seemingly staying low.

Chris and I celebrated NY Eve with Helen ans Jim eating an early dinner and then back home to finish out 2021 and ring in 2022 with the boys at home

The high school had to go virtual for a week but thankfully special education department allowed Dylan’s class to have an in person or virtual option. We chose in person as it is more attained or him. Austin’s RAZ class is PE and Dylan’s is computer lab. We love hearing about their school days. Ashleigh is in semester 5 of 6 of her nursing school of course, she is taking a full/overage load to include the last few nurses classes, her last class to complete her minor, Spanish for medical professions, Global Missions and Nursing ( which is a 7 week course), and her she is in process of completing her honors project. She is also in full wedding planning mode. Thankfully she and Sam are doing a lot of planning and such together and we’re able to complete several items in December during their off time; however, she is keeping the roads hot with travel to meet photographer and continue other wedding related plans

Chris, the boys and I were able to have a short getaway to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge over the MLK weekend. It was a lot of fun with wine tastings, sightseeing, Paula Deen’s restaurant, Bennett’s (an oldie fave) , indoor mini golf, and several go cart rides. We drove to Cades Cove only to discover the loop road was closed but it was a great scenic ride and Chompers was able to ride along with us. We decided to leave on Sunday evening as it started to snow steadily and quickly. We didn’t want to be stuck there.

Banessa, Helen, and I are having a fun time planning a bridal shower for Ashleigh
