Dating One Another

Chris and I had a Saturday date in downtown Charleston. We walked 10000+ steps. We walked the battery, stopping at the Pineapple Fountain, talking, and looking at all the houses. We walked to the tip of the harbor. This means we also walked on cobblestone roads. We walked back street side and up a block so that we could see different homes and such. Again, we talked and walked. Later, we had dinner at Fleet’s Landing. They have a new seafood bar area. We sat there. Our server was a young guy from Grayson, Ga ( what a small world). We also met some people from Florida and a couple from Minnesota. Both were visiting Charleston for the first time. The Minnesota couple were also trying oysters for the first time. They both liked. Chris and I had fried green tomato with lump crab dip on top and calamari as an appetizer. Both were delicious. We shared the fish of the day, fingerling potatoes, and asparagus. It too was delectable. I had a pomegranate drink while Chris had  Holy City oyster stout beer. We decided that we would then go to the Gin Joint There we had 2 drinks neither were great; however, we hadn’t been there in a long, long while and we still had a nice atmosphere and time. We hadn’t decided we would get dessert, but Carmelo’s line was long and the desserts weren’t as appealing as usual. Therefore, we decided to forego dessert. All in all, we had a great time all day and into the evening. Definitely something, we need to do! Date your spouse— it’s a way to relax, spend good quality time together, talk, walk, and enjoy one another.

Mom-Son date

Dylan and I were able to see Newsies at a local college. He has grown up with Ashleigh’s dance recitals, choir  performances, high school dance for Ashleigh, watching Ashleigh and friends in musicals in high school and college, watching musicals on television—- one of Dylan’s all time fave has been Newsies! When I saw the performance was going to be close to home, what more than to take him to see. Another plus was someone he knew was performing. Dylan even wore the high school colors too. (Love this kid and his heart!)He absolutely loved it! On the way, he wanted to listen to the soundtrack so we listened to a few snippets of songs. He sang too! We had a wonderful time! On the way home, I thought he would fall asleep, but he did. It. Instead, he talked about how amazing and great the performance was. I am so grateful for these fun times.
