To say that I am proud of this young lady that I am so grateful to call my daughter would definitely be an understatement! Ashleigh graduated on June 1. A quote from her valedictorian speech is quite powerful:
" As we strive for power, it will threaten to corrupt our minds and we must fight to gain status without giving up our morality. Our greed will try to dominate our thoughts and yet we must try to gain wealth and still remain humble and generous. Our own selfish desires will attempt to silence God's voice and cloud our direction, yet we must continue to remain fixed toward the Kingdom rather than be bogged down by the flesh." Her speech sums of the young lady she is humble, kindhearted and looking to Christ for her decisions. She is truly a child of the King!
This summer she is working in Mount Hermon along with her boyfriend, Sam, and his brother, as a childcare counselor. May she continue to grow in God's Kingdom and strengthen her faith and walk with Him. She will be attending Charleston Southern University this fall and study nursing.
