Just December

I was able to get tickets for The Moscow Nutcracker in August and surprise Ashleigh! She and I made it a girl’s night out first sharing a meal at Olive Garden. The ballet was spectacular! (Prior we watched the high school’s dance and drama company versions as well as Ashleigh perform last year at the high school). All were great!

Ashleigh and Dylan made fudge! Great bonding time for them! Dylan loves fudge; Ashleigh enjoys making treats.

At the high school there were several dress up days. This is Dylan I’m Reindeer Day. Can you guess which one?  He also dressed in an elf hat and pajamas. He loved each day!

Sweet 16 for Dylan

We celebrated Dylan’s birthday with Dylan and Ashleigh making fudge- his fave. We also celebrated by going to Stats and Strikes. We all played games and later enjoyed ice cream at Dairy Queen.

Tree

Wow- December is zipping by quickly...
We are in the third week of the Advent season - Hope, Peace, Joy
Earlier this month, Chris’s sister came here for work and we were also blessed to have her visit us. We caught up with dinner at Page’s Okra grill- complete with coconut cake, watching CBHS Hairspray, and conversation until the wee hours of the morning.
Chris and I have also enjoyed a night out celebrating Christmas with his work. The evening was a dinner cruise abroad the Carolina Girl along the inter coastal waterway. Amazing views, food, and fun.

We went to a local tree stand for our Christmas tree again this year. The kids wanted the 12 foot $300 dollar tree, but our ceilings are too small and the price was out of budget. However, our tree is just as beautiful and we had fun choosing it. Ashleigh and Austin placer the lights around the tree. Then, Ashleigh and I added the decorations.

Pirates of Penzance

Ashleigh is adjusting to college life - going to classes and doing well, developing friendships, involved in study groups and small group Bible study on and off campus , as well as, making a college debut in the operetta, Pirates of Penzance, as a daughter. She did a spectacular job singing, dancing, and twirling her hair. Her most fun was striking the set and getting a chance to swing on the rope that Frederic (a male lead played  by Sam) entered the scene.
