February 2021 Already?!

January has flown by and February is almost half way complete! I can’t believe it!! Not many changes — it is however getting closer to the closing/ moving date of Helen and Jim’s house in Oxford. The last couple of weeks Jim and Shane have been bringing moving trucks so that later this month after the close in Ga all will be here. Helen will finish out the month and work one week and then retirement. I hope to get her involved in YMCA and maybe even one PRN at a local hospital, but mostly just exploring, relaxing, visiting , and enjoying life with her youngest trio of grandkids nearby. In the process Austin is getting a new bedroom suite and Dylan a new bed frame.

We are also doing some renovations in our home- changing the island surround to shiplap, installing new countertops (going lighter), light fixtures (soon) in kitchen and breakfast area, and a mantle (finally). As I type this I am sitting in the pitch dark (feels like 1700s only in living room and kitchen) because electricians are installing more work lights in the garage.

Ashleigh and I had an adventure to a local thrift store that sales upscale clothes. The event was called fill a bag. Each bag you could fill was $25. She and I filled 6 bags. However, the regular thrift price would have been close to $1700 (most items cost were $1.57 or $0.80 per item). The lady at the sale counter asked if we were packing experts because we rolled all our items. It was so fun!! We also had huge slices of pizza from a local pizza shop that the choir would eat at downtown.  The restaurant recently opened a venue close to us!

Dylan’s communication device is being personalized to him. We (He) loves it!!!

Busy times for Chris at work as the housing market has remained steady throughout Covid. As for me at work- all my students are at school. I am so excited! We all continue to wear out masks while at school and work.
