Angel Oak

The Angel Oak Tree is approximately 400 years old. We gasp and are wowed by God’s creation-consider all things for His glory. Helen, Jim, Ashleigh and I were able to spend the day visiting the Angel Oak tree and Bohicket Marina taking in gorgeous views of the tree, water, marsh, and we even saw a dolphin. During the times our world is facing may we trust in His mercy and His sovereignty instead of our flesh’s desires and passions.

Happy Birthday Austin

  • We had a great day celebrating! We visited Bee City. Grandma and Pappy are here so grandmas came along with us. Bristol was able to come too! We enjoyed the day outside seeing many animals. Then we ate at Rio Chico, one of his favorite restaurants. At home we enjoyed an ice cream cake that Ashleigh made complete with homemade buttercream icing. Bristol and Baeleigh gave Austin the cutest poster. I can’t believe the baby is 11!

First Ever Harvest

I have wanted to grow a garden for several years. This year we did. Today I harvested dill and a squash. Hopefully soon there will be more squash, tomatoes, dill, basil, and even a cantaloupe.

School Year Ends Life Lessons

School year ends for me and the boys CBE has a student Send Off in the car rider line. It was the best hour that I have had as a teacher during fourth quarter. I packed my classroom for the summer and was able to distantly talk to a colleague/friend which seemed “normal” for just a bit. Family time each day and sleeping in has been quite nice. Now Summer begins - I have a small bucket list and to do-the kids will help me add to it. First, I hope to paint a piece of furniture and lighten the living room. Ashleigh has sewn some small projects and almost finished a dress too- I help with the bobbin and cutting out the fabric. We have a lot of fun shopping for material - especially now that Joanns is open for inside shipping. Ashleigh was unable to serve at Mount Hermon this summer due to Coronavirus restrictions; prayerfully next summer she will return. She continues to meet with some of the Childcare Counselors. We hope to go to the beach and pool too. Family bike rides will be nice too. One of Austin’s really good friends has a for sale sign in front of their house and will be moving - staying local- so this is a bummer. Lots of things to do nearby so that’s great . I’ve made reservations for us to get away too  We have a small garden with many blooms and even small veggies and herbs. Hopefully we will have squash jabs tomatoes soon! Basil and dill are ready to harvest now. Yum!There is an alligator on the bank of the pond behind our house ; so we have to be mindful of that too .
