Nursing School Begins

Blood Titers, drug test, background check, uploading documents, vaccines, flu shot, shoes, scrubs...... Today was the first day of Nursing School for Ashleigh. Pray for her and her classmates, as well as, other students returning and new students this semester. May she continue to grow and walk with God She will take various classes this semester.  She also has taken a bench seat on the choir and will fulfill that role when needed. She was hired at a local hospital over the break and has oriented and worked  two night shifts . Thankfully the hospital is  working around her schedule and she is able to continue gaining experience. She enjoys the staff but getting used to night shift will be an adjustment.  This summer she will return to Mount Hermon as an assistant lead  counselor in childcare. Exciting to see how God is growing and using her during this season of her life.

Getaway for Fam

After Christmas, we were able to getaway a few days near Lake Lure. After completing the first semester of school for me and boys and Ashleigh completing her first semester of college and Chris being off, we all were ready for just some time together. Chompers came too. We had a restful and delightful time. We visited downtown Asheville, hiked at Chimney Rock, and visited the Biltmore House too. Several nights of games and visiting the grocery store for Happy Hour Doughnuts too.

Christmas in December and January

Advent Season - waiting in Christ’s Arrival and Christmas Eve both were great reminders that Jesus Birth being Joy, Love, Peace, and Hope. After Christmas Eve service, we strolled through the lights at Marion Park enjoying family laughs and smiles. We enjoyed a dinner after driving around to several places because many were closed early. At home, the kids opened gifts from one another and we played games. Christmas morning Dylan was the first one up and agreed to sleep for about thirty minutes allowing us to get up around 8:00. Santa was generous and the kids were thankful. After presents, we made breakfast. Our afternoon consisted of watching Star Wars and the night ended with  Christmas dinner prepared all by me.

This past week Helen and Jim were able to visit and we celebrated Christmas with them also. We all were able to spend quality time with them - talking, laughing, sharing, eating, and just spending time together. During their visit, they also got a special tour of CSU with Ashleigh.
