Sweet Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a sweet time! I had prepared the sweet potatoes, the mashed potatoes, and the macaroni and cheese on Wednesday. However, I somehow managed to awaken early to prepare. In the midst, I watched the Macy’s Day parade and texted with my sister reminiscing childhood days and also making new memories with Dylan (He watched most with me.) I also watched the National Dog Show and convinced Austin to watch with me. I prepared strawberry salad (my Mamaw’s recipe) and I believe I may have been the only person that ate it (minus the portion I sent to Helen and Jim). They weren’t able to join us as Helen had back surgery in Monday and was recovering at home. I also made pigs in blanket on Wednesday and made sausage balls on Thursday so that we could have them for breakfast and snacks on Thursday and Friday. Ashleigh and Sam arrived and dinner was complete and ready. I made biscuits and gravy (it became thick quick, but Chris and Ashleigh felt we didn’t need dressing and biscuits would suffice). I had made bacon and sausage in the morning and used the grease for gravy. Ashleigh made peanut butter pie (Chris’s request) and razzleberry pie (a surprise that so love!!!). We had dinner and finished the night off
