Tree

Wow- December is zipping by quickly...
We are in the third week of the Advent season - Hope, Peace, Joy
Earlier this month, Chris’s sister came here for work and we were also blessed to have her visit us. We caught up with dinner at Page’s Okra grill- complete with coconut cake, watching CBHS Hairspray, and conversation until the wee hours of the morning.
Chris and I have also enjoyed a night out celebrating Christmas with his work. The evening was a dinner cruise abroad the Carolina Girl along the inter coastal waterway. Amazing views, food, and fun.

We went to a local tree stand for our Christmas tree again this year. The kids wanted the 12 foot $300 dollar tree, but our ceilings are too small and the price was out of budget. However, our tree is just as beautiful and we had fun choosing it. Ashleigh and Austin placer the lights around the tree. Then, Ashleigh and I added the decorations.

Pirates of Penzance

Ashleigh is adjusting to college life - going to classes and doing well, developing friendships, involved in study groups and small group Bible study on and off campus , as well as, making a college debut in the operetta, Pirates of Penzance, as a daughter. She did a spectacular job singing, dancing, and twirling her hair. Her most fun was striking the set and getting a chance to swing on the rope that Frederic (a male lead played  by Sam) entered the scene.

Embracing 47

Started the week enjoying Littles shop of Horrors at the high school. As I am thankful for yet another year- birthday celebrations at school included flowers and treats and cards galore from students. On the homefront, I enjoyed the night out with the boys and Chris at Sushi 201. Dessert was a Mocha Mocha Bigby coffee. Ashleigh visited on Saturday and showered me with sweet gifts too. I received a surprise  cup with two kinds of straws from Amazon from my sister.  (How did she know I needed a new cup of my own.) on Saturday miring I enjoyed a yummy breakfast with a dear friend and enjoyed fellowship in reading the Psalms. Embracing each moment and enduring sweet memories. I am also embracing the fact that my eyesight requires readers but I am grateful that most of the time I feel 25!
